FAQ

Engraving Questions

What materials can you engrave?

We can engrave wood, plastic, leather, acrylic, cork, and more! We can even cut through these materials too.  Great examples of wood, leather, and plastic can be found by checking out some of our clients we have featured under the "More" tab.

Can you engrave handwriting if I send you a photo?

We can! We love to preserve love notes, recipes, signatures, or kid's artwork.

Can you engrave metal?

We could but the process is expensive for us so it normally isn't worth it for customers.

Can you etch glass?

We can! We have made wine glasses for large events and can customize just about any glass shape/size. We even did a huge order of whiskey glasses for a chapter of the United States Coast Guard!

Can I have something engraved that isn't shown here?

Sure! Email us at oakhillmillworks@gmail.com and let's talk more about it. We love helping make someone else's idea come to life.

Bulk Order Questions

Do you offer bulk discounts?

We do! Tumblers, cutting boards, journals, glassware - just about anything ordered in bulk will be given a discount.  Email us for a custom estimate with zero commitment.

If I do a bulk order of tumblers, do they all have to be the same?

We order by the case (24 tumblers) so while we appreciate ordering by case quantities/styles, we don't require it.  More than anything, we want you to get what you like!

What options do you offer for company gifts?

We can put your logo on just about anything! Wooden ornaments, coffee mugs, coasters, journals, portfolios, golf ball markers, canvas tote bags, glass beer mugs, you name it! Bring us a creative idea... we love to make things happen!

General Questions

Do you take custom requests?

We do! Feel free to email us at oakhillmillworks@gmail.com to send us your idea/need and we will get back to you with our availability, an estimate, and a mock-up for you to consider!

What is your turnaround time?

A typical order will take no longer than 7-10 business days, however, we will let you know if we need to order more product to complete your order and, in that case, it could take longer depending on supply chain logistics. Either way, we will let you know immediately if it will take longer than the average 7-10 days.

Do you ship internationally?

We do.  If you are an international buyer, we will need to correspond your order through email and get you a custom shipping quote using our international shipping service, ShipNerd.

What is the best file type for you to receive of my artwork?

We appreciate working with professionally made graphic design files.  EPS and SVG files are easiest for us to work with, however, we are capable of working with any file type.

Cutting Board Questions

Can I design my own cutting board engraving?

Yep! Feel free to email us at oakhillmillworks@gmail.com to send us your idea/need and we will get back to you with our availability, an estimate, and a mock-up for you to consider! Purchase "The DIY" to make it official or drop off your own cutting board and check out with "The BYOB" in your cart.

Can I use the cutting board or is it just decoration?

Our cutting boards are made of hard maple, walnut, or bamboo.  They are indeed cutting boards made for use, however we do recommend cutting on the opposite side of your engraving.

How do I care for my board?

Your cutting board comes with a coating of oil on it to repel moisture.  Wooden kitchenware should not be left to soak and should be washed by hand with mild soap and warm water. For a cutting board with heavy use, we recommend reapplying a food safe oil to your board every month.
